Student Success
Rebel Voices students are a diverse group of adults who represent 18 zip codes in Chicago's South and West side neighborhoods. We are proud to celebrate our graduates who are working hard in the field of their choice, as well as recognize our students who are learning in the classroom, and through externships and other hands-on activities.
Bobby Ellis, Current Student at Lincoln Tech
in Automotive Technology

"I recently decided to do a career change. I was nervous to be in school again after all these years, but pushed through and started going to Lincoln Tech in March 2021. I applied for the Rebel Voices Scholarship and was accepted. It relieved so much stress and now I can focus on my learning. Thank you Rebel Voices for this amazing opportunity."
Maria Gonzalez, Lincoln Tech Graduate and Registered Medical Assistant

"I am currently working for one of the biggest Health Care companies in Illinois and Wisconsin. I still remember the day I received the phone call (about the scholarship) like it was yesterday. Someone from my school called and told me she had really great news for me. Her exact words were "You did it, you got a full scholarship provided to you by Rebel Voices." I could not believe what I was hearing. I was speechless and started to cry.
I will never forget what Rebel Voices has done for me. Thanks to that I am now about to work full time for a good company. There are no words to describe how thankful I am. The scholarship really has changed my life."
Takeisha Williams, Lincoln Tech Graduate and Maintenance Tech

"Since I graduated college, I have been doing good work at a company called Smithfield Foods working on machines when they break down. The Electric and Electronics Service Tech program taught be the basics of how to be an electrician. The program was very interesting because I never did something like this before. The Rebel Voices scholarship is a blessing."
William Underwood, Current Student at Midewestern Career College in Surgical Technology

"I am in the Surgical Technology Program at MCC. It is a very exciting field of work for me. I am most proud of my grades and that I am keeping them at a 3.6 GPA right now. I'm motivated about the career I will have and the opportunities that I will have. Financially, it will be a huge boost and a huge change to my life. I will have a better level of living so I can support my Mother and Daughter. I just want to be a more helpful member of my community. I'm so grateful for this opportunity."
